Hatherlow Church

In categories: Ecclesiastical | Stained Glass

In 2010 a new aisle window was commissioned by the church, in memory of a long serving parishioner.

The contemporary window features scenes of both the church and the mill in which the parishioner had worked.

Polish glass was used to produce the vivid colours and the artwork was all fired in tones of grey.  The effect is a stunning uncomplicated window.

This window, along with four others, was then polycarbonate protected with 8mm UV-coated polycarbonate and stainless steel fixings.  This replaced rusting metal grilles.  It was fitted much closer to the glass and reveals more of the stonework detailing and is less prominent.
