Dukinfield Town Hall

When a local Dukinfield school was being demolished, its stained glass feature window was relocated to the town hall.

Our proposal was to create a purpose built hardwood frame and provide backlighting to the panel from daylight tube lighting.

The stained glass and leaded light panels were removed from the school, cleaned and re-built in the workshop, before being fitted to the new frame.

The hardwood frame was purpose built to house the existing panels.  This was fitted with the base approximately eight feet off the ground by an open plan walk way, this allows the detail and glory of the window to be appreciated at close range.

In-situ cleaning and repairs of leaded lights were also undertaken, before the panels were polished black.
